John W. Moles, Owner, President, & Funeral Director
John is the fourth generation of the Moles Family in Whatcom County funeral service. 

John graduated from Seattle Pacific University and attended the MBA program at Western Washington University.  He is a member of the Rotary Club of Bellingham, Board member of Whatcom Community Foundation and of the Mt. Baker Chapter of the Red Cross, Treasurer for Bellingham Dollars for Scholars, a Trustee of the Whatcom County Old Settlers Association, and he attends church locally. 

Married since 1995, John and Anathea have four children.

 
  
 
 Mary Lucas 

Mary Lucas, Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer

Mary was born in South Dakota and lived most of her life in Wyoming.  She graduated with highest honors from San Antonio College.  She moved to Whatcom County in 2001.

Mary has three children.  Her oldest son is a power lineman in Wyoming.  Her youngest son is in the Navy, stationed at NAS Whidbey Island, and her daughter, Nicole, lives and works in Bellingham.  Mary lives in Birch Bay, where she enjoys the sunsets and spend her spare time gardening and reading.  Mary is a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #7, where she serves as Chaplain.

 
   
 

 

Kelley Porter  Funeral Director Assistant

Kelly was born and raised in Bellingham and resides there with her children.  She graduated from Bellingham High School, married Kevin Porter in 1992, and has three children.

In June of 2004, Kelley joined the Moles family business as the Moles - Ferndale secretary.

She is an active member of her church, serving on the worship team and on the planning committee for women's ministries and doing children’s registration.  Kelley enjoys playing basketball and softball, singing and music, reading and spending time with her friends and family.

 
  
 

 

Michael Anderson, Director of Family Service
Michael joined Moles Family Services in June of 2002.  He graduated from WWU in 1989 and earned his MBA through the University of Phoenix.  Michael was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and makes his home in Ferndale with his wife, Christine, and their two girls.

Before joining Moles Family Services, Michael pursued a career as a local golf professional.  He looks forward to when his daughters are old enough for the family to golf as a foursome.

 
 
  
  

Brian Flowers, Cemeterian and Green Burial Coordinator 
Brian was born and raised in Whatcom County.  He attended Western Washington University in Bellingham and currently lives in Everson with his wife and daughter.

Brian also works as a freelance professional storyteller and is a founding member of the Bellingham Storytellers Guild. In his free time, Brian enjoys backpacking, camping, snowboarding and woodworking.

 

 
 

 

Becky Merris, Accounting Manager/Human Resources
Becky was born and raised in Chico, California, where she earned her Accounting Degree in 1986 from California State University.  In 2001, she moved to Bellingham, which she loves and where she plans to stay - and began working with us.

In her free time, Becky keeps busy with her three sons' school and music activities, which include piano, violin, tenor sax, percussion and singing.

 
    

 

Bryan Rehberger, Superintendent/Crematory Operator
Bryan is a lifetime Whatcom County resident.  He graduated from Bellingham High School in 1978 and has worked for us since 1980, encompassing three of the four generations of Moles family ownership, with Bob Moles, Sr., Bob Moles, Jr., and John Moles.

Bryan has been a CANA-certified operator (Cremation Association of North America) since 1996.  He is the creative force behind our magnificent Stillwaters Cremation Cemetery.

Bryan and his wife, Dawn, have three children.  Her daughter is a day-care teacher, her son works at Lowe's, and Bryan's son, Josh, is a student who began working part-time at Greenacres in 2004.

In his spare time, Bryan enjoys painting and woodworking.

 
    

 

Bruce Rowell, Groundskeeper 
Bruce joined the Greenacres family in 1971 as part of the grounds crew.  In 1980, he became the Gardener.  Bruce has won numerous plaques and awards for his lovely floral designs and imaginative gardening skills.

Bruce is a guitarist in several local bands.  He also enjoys restoring antique cars and gardening in his own yard.

He lives in Blaine, has two sons and a daughter, and has been married to his wife, Billie, since 1981.

 
    

   
 
   

 

Teresa Stephens, Family Service Administrator
Teresa began working at Greenacres in 2005.  She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, lived in San Diego for most of her life and moved to Bellingham in 1990. 

In addition to her work for Moles, Teresa is also the Accounting Manager for her family’s security business. 

Teresa attends Cornwall Church, where she serves on the Hospitality Committee.  She enjoys spending time outdoors, especially at the lake or on the beach, or going camping.  

Teresa has two grown children who live in the area, and she and her husband, Wade, have two daughters and one nephew living at home.  Teresa is also the proud grandma of two grandsons and a granddaughter.
