Daniel Stephen Belk, age 32, of Ferndale, Washington, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2010. Daniel was born on November 11, 1977, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Over the course of his life he lived in Missouri, Idaho, Louisiana, Colorado, and Washington. Daniel always had a love for animals, drawing, and children.

Danny, as he was known to many, made many laugh in many different ways at times you would not expect. Always an active child, the only time he could sit still for more than 35 seconds was when he was drawing or watching a show on animals; he was particularly fond of specials on sharks. Daniel was also always very curious, even to the point of asking if there was sugar in sugar. Daniel was a member of the Truth Tabernacle in Bellingham, Washington where he developed many deep relationships. In his time with Truth Tabernacle, Daniel found purpose and a direction in his life and made great strides over the past five years.

Daniel is survived by his mother and father, Jane and Nathan Cathey; his brother, Travis; his sister, Katie; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout the country.  His loving soul will be dearly missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Truth Tabernacle Missionary Fund or to a local animal shelter.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 23, at Moles Funeral Home Chapel, 2039 Main Street, Ferndale, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 24, at 11:00 AM, at Truth Tabernacle, 901 E 54th Terrace, Bellingham.  Graveside services will be held Monday, July 26, at 11:00 AM, in Fielding Memorial Park, Idaho Falls, Idaho.
