Dominic Mesa Pietro, age 12, passed away in his home in Bellingham on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from complications of congenital heart disease. He was born March 30, 1998 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Dominic was a student at Kulshan Middle School.
Dominic came speeding into our family on the back of a motorcycle on July 6, 1998, when we traveled to adopt him in Cambodia. Dominic liked things fast and lived a full life in the short time he was with us. He loved anything with wheels, frogs and dogs, swimming in the lake, and creating things with Legos. He was an avid video game player and enjoyed drawing. Dominic’s philosophy was “play first”, which he often did. He had a goofy sense of humor. He was always making plans and wanted to go on adventures like on Man vs. Wild. He really loved going on trips to visit his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He loved being with his family.
Dominic is survived by his parents, Michael Pietro and Christine Kubota; sisters Elise and Tess; brothers Grant and Chase; his grandparents Michael & MaryAnn Pietro and George & Marcelle Kubota; many loving aunts, uncles & cousins; and his cat Belle.
We miss him so much.
We love you Dominic!
